As an Account Executive at Lukas Partners, Makena Colson supports clients with digital media, social responding and engagement. She also handles writing, news media pitching and tracking media results.

Makena is Vice President of Communications for University of Nebraska-Omaha’s (UNO) Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), where she works in internal communications within the organization, as well as communication with donors and alumni. She also is on the digital communications board for the UNO Women and Gender Equity Center, where she works on social media branding and content. Makena is the Alumni Relations Chair for Zeta Tau Alpha fraternity, where she handles the chapter alumnae Facebook and other alumni outreach opportunities. In addition, she was an account associate for UNO’s MaverickPR, where she wrote copy for the UNO School of Communication magazine, CommUNO.

Makena is finalizing her degree at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. She is majoring in Communication Studies with a minor in Journalism and Media Communication.
